I am writing as a concerned Australian and supporter of the No More Zombie Veterans campaign to ask why veterans are still not approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) for access to legally prescribed medicinal cannabis for their treatment-resistant Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

Many veterans have not found relief from conventional medications like antidepressants, antipsychotics, and benzodiazepines, which often come with serious side effects, including dependency, emotional numbing, and increased suicide risk. In contrast, medicinal cannabis’ interaction with the body’s endocannabinoid system has been scientifically shown to be a safer, more effective, and cost-efficient alternative that improves veterans health outcomes and reduces reliance on pharmaceuticals.

Why is the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) continuing to deny this medication option when it could save lives and support veterans' recovery?

I urge you to investigate this issue and support policy reform that allows our veterans access to the care they actually respond to—care that restores dignity, function, and hope.
